“Trust your own genius. Listen to the voice within you and sooner or later she will make herself understood, not only to you, but she will enable you to translate her language to the world, and this it is, which forms the only real merit of any work.”
Washington Allston, Artist, Early 1800’s

Why Create?

To experience the thrill of making something out of nothing.

To search for something that will enrich your spirit and your life.

To learn how to truly see.

To develop visual awareness.

To help you understand what art is all about.

To experience the process.

To seek a release from tension and the everyday stress of living.

To relax and have fun.

To challenge yourself.

To engage in a part-time interest or hobby.

To learn a new skill.

To find out whether you have artistic talent.

To exercise your imagination.

To engage in an activity that will allow you to enjoy some peace and solitude.

To feel alive.

To learn. Period.

I would love to hear why you create in the comments below.
