Give Your Ideas A Chance

I don’t “get” ideas, I "receive” them. And I am thankful. It just sounds better to receive them, doesn’t it?

For me, ideas don’t usually just happen while I am sitting around doing nothing. I have to be active. I receive most of my ideas when I am actually creating. I also receive ideas while I am reading, listening to music or taking a walk.

Creativity happens when you take an idea and you work with it. You try it out. You begin, and head in the direction that you think this idea wants to go, and then you make adjustments. You guess and correct.

Creativity is having a vision inspired by your idea. I guess you could say that you have a visual idea for your idea.

Creativity is being able to imagine your vision in a completed form.

Creativity is having the intention and drive to complete it. To realize it. To make it come alive and exist in real life.

To give your ideas a chance to exist, you have to spend a lot of time just being in your studio, at your easel, with your materials, and your creativity -  before something emerges and begins to happen.

Best,

David
