DESCRIPTION

In this inspirational workshop, artists will have the opportunity to work from two different poses each day, which will allow time for deep exploration, experimentation, and trial and error. Working in compelling and fearless ways, we will explore drawing, painting, and mixed media as well as color, value, line, brushstrokes, texture and composition. Artists will also receive uplifting advice on expression, process, aesthetics, and creativity.

The purpose of this workshop is to provide intermediate, advanced and professional artists with the opportunity and adventure of exploring figure drawing and painting in-depth and receive instruction on drawing, acrylic painting, and mixed media techniques as well. The focus will be on maintaining an atmosphere of creative freedom. The goal will be to nurture the joy of personal expression and the excitement of learning.

In this workshop participants will enjoy exploring the technical, physical and mental aspects of having the time to develop your drawings and paintings as well as pushing them to another level.

Discussions will include:

• Keeping your work fresh
• How not to over-work
• Taking more risks and experimenting more
• Surviving mistakes
• Correcting
• Infusing your work with more creativity and expression
• What to look for in a pose
• How to take advantage of what you see and discover in order to produce a more interesting, fluid, dynamic and expressive figure drawing or painting

Those not interested in working on one piece per pose, will have the option of creating several pieces from each pose.

PREREQUISITES

Basic figure drawing and painting experience.

A $75 non-refundable, non-transferable deposit confirms your enrollment.
 

June 14
Balance of $400 is due. If you cancel by June 14, no worries. All tuition will be refunded less the $75 deposit.
 

June 15 – 28
If you cancel your enrollment between June 15 – 28, again, no worries. All tuition will be refunded less $125.
 

June 29
Thank you for understanding that no refunds are available on or after this date.

If the workshop is cancelled for any reason, the entire enrollment fee will be refunded.
