“I have become aware of this: the earth breathes, smells, listens and feels in all its little parts”.
Egon Schiele

Curiosity And Fear

Curiosity and fear go hand-in-hand sometimes. We can be curious about a new technique and we can also be afraid to try it. We can be curious about working larger and we can be afraid to try it. We can be curious about taking a new class and we can be afraid to attend.

It’s OK to be fearful as long as the fear does not stop you from trying what you are curious about.

Be motivated by curiosity. Take a ride with curiosity and let it be the driver. Be driven by curiosity rather than fear.

At times you are going to be afraid in your quest for creative expression. And you must create anyway. You know that fear is going to show up from time to time. You must create anyway.

One thing that helps me is to ask myself: “What if? Why not?’

This taps me into my curiosity and, more importantly, shoves fear aside.

And, allows me to create anyway.

Best,

David
